sächsilüüte is an old spring festival that occurs in zurich every year on the third monday of april. the rite culminates in the burning of the böögg - a figure of a snowman whose head is filled with firecrackers - symbolizing winter. the faster the böögg's head explodes, the nicer the following summer will be.
this year the head exploded after only 7 minutes and 23 seconds, so our hopes are high for an amazing summer!
traditionally the people take the remains of the stake to bbq right there, but as it was raining and cold we went home and had a bbq with friends there.
this year we even had the possibility to climb up the platform to take a bölfie (selfie with böögg...) :) pea wasn't impressed. |
before i brought pea to bed i thought he felt a bit warm. but as he was already asleep i didn't take his temperature. when he woke up in the night i could already tell by his crying that something was wrong. i measured his temperature and he actually had a fever... again... :(
he was exhausted and fell asleep on me all the time,
just to wake up again whenever i tried to move...
the fever was still high today so i took him to the pediatrician.
they checked his blood and luckily it is only viral. so we just treat it with medication and hope it will pass soon. although i'm glad it's nothing worse, i hate pea being poorly and me being so helpless about it!
as pea was very brave when he had his blood taken,
he got this cute finger puppets from the lovely nurse.
Ich mag Englisch mit den Zürcherausdrücken gemischt. Süsser Blog!
